For the 24th and 25.11.2012 in Bangkok a large demonstration in the area around the parliament, the Dusit Zoo and the seat of government ("Government House") has been announced. The government has for the 22nd time to 30.11.2012 set for the Bangkok city districts Phra Nakorn, and Dusit Pomprab special statutory arrangements on internal security force. In these districts, it can therefore inter alia come barriers to access, limitations on the use of electronic devices and possibly curfews. Travelers are advised to avoid the area during this period. The other usual tourist areas, both in Bangkok and in the rest of the country are not affected.

บาร์แห่งหนึ่งบนชายหาดหัวหิน พระราชฐานตากอากาศส่วนพระองค์ พระบรมฉายาลักษณ์ในพระบาทสมเด็จพระเจ้าอยู่ภูมิพลอดุลยเดช องค์พระประมุขสูงสุด พระผู้เสวยราชย์ครบ ๖๔ ปี ณ วันที่ ๙ มิถุนายน ค.ศ. ๒๕๑๐ (พ.ศ. ๒๕๕๓) แขวนเรียงรายบนถนนแห่งความทรงจำสองช่องจราจร และตัวสถานีรถไฟ ประดับประดาเฉกเช่นพิธีการต้อนรับระดับชาติ

ท้องทะเลสีฟ้าแลดูเข้ม แต่ก็ไม่เชิงนัก  เรานั่งผ่อนคลายอยู่บนเก้าอี้โยก สายตาจับไปที่ชายคนหนึ่งที่โต๊ะข้างๆ พร้อมแผ่นกระดาษที่คลี่กางออกมา  บนกระดาษแผ่นนั้นตีเป็นตารางไม่ระบายสี มีตัวหมากสีแดงและสีขาวตั้งอยู่คนละฟาก หลายตัวมีลักษณะกลมแบนๆ บางตัวคล้ายเจดีย์ขนาดเล็ก ตรงกลางกระดานเป็นหมากรูปหัวม้าชัดเจน  ไม่ว่าจะมองในแง่ไหนมุมใดก็อดหวนนึกไปถึงการจัดวางหมากรุกไม่ได้ ใช่แล้ว นี่แหละหมากรุกชัดๆ หมากรุกอย่างที่เราคุ้นเคยเรียกขานกัน ที่จริงแล้ว ไม่ใช่หมากรุกตามแบบฉบับที่เป็นทางการของสมาพันธ์หมากรุกนานาชาติ

German Foreign Minister toasts 150 years of diplomatic relations at chamber gala

Thai and German politicians continued to commemorate 150 years of diplomatic relations between the two countries with German Foreign Minister Guido Westerwelle appearing at a 50th anniversary celebration for the German-Thai Chamber of Commerce.

Industry Minister Pongsavas Svasti represented the Thai government at the April 28 gala at the St. Regis Hotel in Bangkok. Guests were treated to a champagne reception, five-course meal and performance from the Bangkok Symphony Orchestra. (read more...)
